Leather goods: features and care

All Mastak handmade leather products are characterized by author's design, high-quality meticulous tailoring, stylish and extraordinary design solutions, functional and thoughtful details. Each Mastak product is created by our professional team in our workshop in Lviv. In the design of bags and backpacks, we combine vintage classic, elegant laconicism and current trendy shapes.  Mastak products are available in two types of genuine leather: classic smooth and authentic vintage leather. Also on our website you will find a new limited collection of Mastak products - selected models in Italian leather and exclusive colors. Below we share with you information about each type of leather and recommendations for its care.

SMOOTH LEATHER (care recommendations)
Smooth leather is genuine leather with a matte or glossy texture. It retains its color and becomes softer and more elastic during use.The irregularities on the texture of leather are a sign of its naturalness.To keep the product in good condition for as long as possible, do not overload it with heavy and large objects, as the leather can stretch.Avoid damage to the leather texture with sharp objects and contact with alcohol.Take care not to let leather absorb water, because water can deform the leather's smooth texture. If the product gets wet, wipe it quickly and allow it to dry naturally.Use specialized colorless balms for leather bags and accessories.Use alcohol-free wet wipes to remove dirt.The smooth leather texture is homogeneous and therefore requires careful use to ensure your product retains its appearance for as long as possible.

Vintage leather (care recommendations)

Vintage leather has matte texture and a specific finish layer with the so-called aging effect. It is a favourite type of leather, for people who enjoy vintage style. This type of leather gradually gets softer and more elastic, and its color becomes deeper with a light glossy effect.

Vintage leather has irregularities in color and texture. The mechanical lines, which appear on the leather texture, are wiped off on their own due to the wax contained in the leather texture.  Since this type of leather undergoes a polishing process, we do not recommend wearing a dark bag with light-colored clothes at the beginning of use. 

Do not overload bag with heavy large objects, as the leather can stretch.  Avoid damage to the leather with sharp objects and contact with alcohol.  Do not let the leather to absorb water.  Use specialized colorless wax by Mastak, created in our workshop, to renew leather texture.

SUEDE (care recomendations) 

Suede is a delicate natural material that requires careful use and care.

1. To protect against moisture and dirt, use specialized odorless sprays for suede accessories and suede brushes.

2. Avoid getting the product wet and minimize contact with moisture. If it gets wet, leave the product to dry naturally, without additional drying.

3. In case of deep surface contamination, take the product to a specialized dry cleaner.

4. Avoid excessive friction of the product with light-colored clothing, as well as clothing that stains (for example, dark jeans), since suede, as a pigmented material, can leave slight traces of color and transfer color to itself.

5. Store the product in a dry, clean place with filling inside to avoid the appearance of creases on the surface.


Color of product

The color of the product you see on the screen may differ slightly from the live color due to various factors:

  • Individual screen settings on your phone or computer.
  • Time and place of shooting the product: a photo on the street in a sunny day will be different from a studio photo made with professional light.
  • The difference in fabric leather coloring – the same color may differ in different periods due to the production process. We receive the finished color from the leather manufacturer. In case of significant differences in color, we will notify you and agree on the order.
  • We do not use additional filters for editing  photos and apply only minimal photo correction. Each product in the photo is a product made in the Mastak workshop.
